Our Dad's first recollection of wood cutting came back in his earlier years as a young teenager (a bit hard for us to imagine). He attended Country School and on every Friday they were given a choice of activities. You could color and do art or you could do woodworking. You had to bring your own wood and saw. For the most part , you learned on your own. He never purchased lumber. All his lumber came mostly from fruit boxes. The wood was thin but thats what he used for his projects. If he didn't have enough, they would pick some up at the local grocery store. |

Our Dad has continued his interest in creating and making items from wood over the years. Today, at 87 years old, he is still helping his daughters with projects for Crazy Sisters. Dad is totally "green" and has always reused, recycled, and salvaged materials for his work. Recently while "Dumpster Diving", he almost couldn't get out of the dumpster and now carries a ladder. |
